Absolutely amazing experience from start to finish!

First, Jeff Smith is an incredible, experienced landscape designer. He listened to every detail, educated us along the way, and crafted a gorgeous landscape plan. He was patient and flexible as we needed to reschedule the start date a couple times based on our other major renovations. He never complained and he was always very transparent about his other projects so we could find the best installation dates and times for everyone.

Once he and his crew started, they had a great strategy in place. You could tell they had taken time to plan everything out in order to complete the job thoroughly with the least disruption to our lives. Jeff and his crew were attentive, efficient, and super easy to work with. They cleaned up after themselves every single day they were here.

Our landscaping turned out better than our wildest dreams! Our neighbors are all very impressed and I will always recommend him to anyone in need of his services.

After seeing pictures of JMS Design Associates' work on Houzz, I met with Jeff Smith, and then toured several of their completed jobs in the area of my home. I was particularly interested in the fact that they could both design, and then contract for the realization of the proposed design. The job was ultimately done in two distinct and understandable phases: the design and then the construction and installation of the design. My 1948 Paul Lazlo designed home finally has an appropriate, flattering and water saving landscape; which grows more interesting almost each day. We (my wife and I, our neighbors, the occasional commenting architecture buff and the LADWP) are all very happy!

Good team with good subs. Primary effort was a courtyard with a tile fountain. Flagstone and ground cover. Courtyard is beautiful with great plant selections. Project also included landscape lighting and sprinkling system both for the front and back. And pavers for four sets of steps/landings. Only drawback was the plant selection for the backyard which required working around existing trees. Most of which didn't work out. No problem with budgets or deadlines. It's been several years and we still take each others calls.

We came to JMS Design from a referral from our interior designer. We started this project with a dirt lot and everything was built from the ground up.

We wanted an east coast feeling to our landscape with areas that we could enjoy as well as space for the kids to play. This was achieved through the pool and knot garden areas. Also, the entertainment pool house has been a big hit with the outdoor tv and adjacent barbecue being used regularly.

The installation went smoothly, and we enjoy the plantings and bluestone and brick paving.
